Rocky Mountains near Aspen, CO

One of the neat things about stone is that it is found in some pretty spectacular places. This is my 2009 workstation next to the Crystal River valley outside Marble, CO; site of a yearly gathering of sculptors called MARBLE/Marble.  Also nearby, is the quarry that provided the stone for the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknowns.  And, when you attend the symposium, you get three cubic feet of glorious white marble.  (Plus the opportunity to buy more.)

I didn’t finish it in the eight days of the symposium, but this is the final result.
